The Deposit Officer specializes in building new depository relationships through direct solicitation of Middle Market and Large Corporate commercial prospects/customers. This position requires a strong sales background with an entrepreneurial spirit that will develop a new banking segment of deposit only customers. This individual will be responsible for meeting deposit/sales goals as well as compliance with bank policies, procedures and operational integrity.

Essential job functions:

  • Through networking, cold-calling efforts and other community outreach activities independently identify prospective Middle Market and Large Corporate leads as deposit only customers. These types of customers often have Treasury Management needs that will be facilitated via this role
  • Develop strategies to build successful deposit gathering around particular market segments i.e. attorneys, medical, title companies, cemeteries, churches, etc.
  • Build relationships and trust with prospects, lenders and current customers in order to procure deposits
  • Analyze prospects’ current TM use and evaluate against bank offerings
  • Under general supervision, create competitive proposals to encourage prospect to move their deposit relationship to the Bank – ferret out corporate versus personal and provide personal deposit leads to Private Banking
  • Make referrals to other Level One lines of business as may be appropriate for client
  • Communicate proposals effectively to prospective/current customers
  • Negotiate as needed to secure business within the confines of Bank core values
  • Work effectively with client and Level One Deposit Operations department to oversee the transition of client business to the Bank
  • Provide effective problem resolution skills to address challenging customer requirements or demands
  • Seek opportunities to offer additional TM services and expand relationship with the Bank
  • Achieve both the deposit (more substantial) and TM sales goals (less substantial) on an annual basis
  • Train clients on the use of TM products and respond to customer service requests
  • Generate client loyalty by providing unparalleled client service
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
